Homemade Nutriberries
1 Cup dried fruits of your choice
2 Tablespoons Coconut
1/2 Cup Old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
1/4 Cup any seed mix of choice
1/4 Cup pellets of choice
2-3 Tablespoons organic creamy peanut butter
2 Large Tablespoons of honey or Molasses

Blend or put in food processor the 1st 3 ingredients and blend well. Add the rest of the ingredients -- it will be sticky. Roll into various size balls of your preference (use wet hands, it makes it easier to roll the balls together). Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes depending on your oven. Check at the sooner time to make sure they do not brown, just set. I place them on parchment paper on cookie sheets instead of greasing them. Cool and place in airtight jars.

Now I added some air pop popcorn, cashews, seed, Natural Gold pellets, organic dried fruit and coconut, oatmeal and I used the honey.
All the birds loved them! Here is some pics! And yes, keep your hands wet while forming
All the birds loved them! Also keep your hands wet when rolling them. Store in an airtight container.

they look great , thank you

I do not feed Lafabers because they have propylene glychol in them. Same thing used to make antifreeze. :(

"I do not feed Lafabers because they have propylene glychol in them. Same thing used to make antifreeze."

from wiki:
Propylene glycol is a component in newer automotive antifreezes and de-icers used at airports. Like ethylene glycol, the freezing point of water is depressed when mixed with propylene glycol due to increased opportunity for hydrogen bonding. Unlike ethylene glycol, propylene glycol is of very low toxicity. Both are readily biodegradable.

Propylene glycol is food grade, and used as an additive in food and drugs. ChiComs have substituted cheaper ethylene glycol in toothpaste and other products in place of propylene glycol, with disastrous results.

Propylene glycol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

We need 100% inspection of imports - paid by the importers.

And that is why I choose not to feed it. :)

Thank you...I'm going to have to try these!

Can these be frozen? My brain is going..I guess maybe airtight and refrigerated would be best if I wanted to make a big batch.

Someone else asked me the same question. I do not know as I have never frozen them. I am feeding 4 parrots so I never need to freeze. I just keep them in an airtight container.
