my little amazon

I love my orange wing amazon!

Just an update, we are expecting our little man home this coming sunday, when he will be 4 full days off the hand feed. i have one little concern though. whilst being hand rared, we have been up visiting him for 2-3 hours per day, 3-4 days a week for the past month. Im hoping this is enough to give us time to bond with him before coming home. my only concern though, is that he has spoken! which is great, but we wernt't there! he said "kiss kiss" to the lady that is hand raring him. she says this regular to all parrots in her care, so he has clearly puck up on this and said it back. but does this mean he has become emotionally attatched to her. as he has spoken so soon, and will this prove more difficult for him to talk in our presence when we get him home?? he is approx 12 weeks old.

any advice appreciated! thanks!

At 12 wks he'll adapt quickly, If he's talking already your lucky,OWAs don't make the best talkers but ones that start early usually are good talkers. I'll bet he's telling you "kiss kiss" after the first day.

Hi, just an update, weve had coco home for two weeks now, and he seems to be doing great, he has settled in well, and has a fascination with flying to me and my partners heads, he landed on me just a few minutes ago and was grooming himself, then grooming me lol. when i put on music he starts to make lots of noises. and also when we talk to him (mainly using the terms hello, kiss kiss, coco bird, good morning, night night) he would start making noises as if hes trying to speak, he mainly reacts to "hello", "coco bird" and "kiss kiss" at the moment. i know orange wings are not the best known talkers, but it really does seem like hes trying to talk, some of the noises he makes sound very similar to "coco bird" and sometimes "hello". could this be a sign that he may become a talker. he is only 4 months old so far.

thanks
