My new Meyers

Hi, I just got Taco... My 7 month old Meyers. He is awesome! He has only been with us for 3 days and is doing great. He loves to air on my shoulder and go wherever I go. But I have 3 dogs and last night I turned my back for one second and he flew across the room, over the gate where my dogs were and ended up in my pitbull's mouth!! Luckly I got him before anything happened. He did lose some down feathers but that was it. I gave him extra attention and love last night and he seems great today. Anyway, so far he is awesome and I figured I'd share.

Be careful around the dogs. Are they seperated when your meyer is out? It could have gone differently you know. Goodluck and congrads on yor baby.

Hopefully none of the germs from your pit's mouth transferred, birds are pretty sensitive to those kinds of things.

I saw my first Meyer's yesterday at the pet store. The lady who let us see the birds said it wasn't tame and didn't like anyone but it immediately took to me, regurgitating and demanding scritches. If I didn't already have a Sun and a Green cheek, I'd have gotten that Meyer's!! They really are sweet.
