Jullie, Indian ringneck.
My cockteil lost his voice last week, a vet adviced me to only add multivitamins and a humidifier at the time as back then he still squeeked as usual but they were muffled otherwise perfectly healthy, today is a sandstorm where i live, i woke up to see him mouth breathing and tail bobbing as in the video..constant squeeking and tail preening.. a few sneezes here and there
he ate and pooed normal (however he did squeek alot while pooing)
No avian vet available and the only vet i had is closed today. what do i do?
Do i administer Doxycycline-Tylosine to him? i got my hands on some from the vet just in case a few days ago.
EDIT: Vet perscribed ornix extra with asbirp vet for the night, is this enough
i dont trust his avian knowledge, do i turn the humidifiers on or off? we're in the middle east where air is usually pretty dry

I'd keep the humidifier on.

I would definitely give your cutie Doxycycline as directed without misding any doses and follow up with the vet ASAP. Please keep us updated on how your baby is doing. We all hate it when members birds, any birds, are sick.

Having a gauge to check actual humidity is recommended. Especially if you are running a humidifer/dehumidifier. Recommended is 40-60%. A built in gauges can be iffy. Check your air filters, etc. A very cheap alternative is a this. A simple fan + a quality filter (like for central heat/air units), tape filter to fan outflow. Airborne allergens, mold, dust etc particles decrease dramatically in a few hours. This will help everyones comfort.
