I got Rosalie from a local breeder (whom I got two of my other 'tiels from) who had Rosalie returned to her after raising a clutch of babies, but then continued laying eggs and as she laid each egg, they were taken away from her so of course, she laid more to replace them which pretty much drained all of her energy, oh and not to mention she and her mate were on an all seed diet, the previous owners didn't see the need for a 'tiel to have vegetables, seed, pellets, grains, lentils and such. :5_sad:

They also clipped one of her wings, and left the other one clipped which is a BIG no no - when she went to fly she'd plonk to the ground. She's also cage bound, she was locked up 24/7 with her "mate" (god do I feel so sorry for him) and was never let out.

I've had Rosalie for awhile now, she was checked out by the Avian Vet before I got her and had tests and etc done, only problem was her weight, she was very skinny, so my first thing to do was get weight on her and get her healthy again, which I succeeded in doing. I have recently taken her to the Avian Vet again and has got the all clear, her weight is perfect, she is perfect and fine! I feed her everything my other birds get, and she eats whatever's put in front of her, not a fussy 'tiel she is AT ALL, I've had no problems giving her any sort of food.

She gets along brilliantly with my other 'tiels, I have the male 'tiels in one cage, and the female 'tiels in another cage, so she lives with the female in their own big cage, happily, lol. She's also SO TAME and FRIENDLY, I really adore her, she loves head scratches more so then anything.

Okay, so enough of that, here's a few photo of my beautiful girl. ;)

Rosalie is so beautiful, so precious
You are doing a splendid job, she is lucky to have you, as a guardian.
Thanks for sharing the picture's "awesome"

Awwwwwwww is she called lacewing? I am learning about teils because I am getting a rescue after I move in July. The one I am getting is white or Lutino I think they are called. It was found by someone on the side of the road. It is a male they are calling gypsy but I think I will change that name. Yours is a beauty. Thanks for showing us pics.

She's gorgeous! You've done beautifully as far as care goes, boy has it paid off! I love her markings, and her feathers look so smooth. Keep it up!

I have two male cockatiels myself, and boy are they a hoot. I got them from an ad on craigslist, and when I got there, I was shocked at how ratty they looked. I'm not sure if it was just molting or malnutrition, but they looked awful. They've had an amazing turnaround in their feathering since they got here.

Enjoy your new bird!

She is a pearl.:D
I care for ( sort of ) a class pet cockatiel. He is named Izzy, was totally untouchable until I took him home. He was litterally riding around on my shoulder after 15 minutes! Now he's my best pal. He usually won't let anyone touch him except me, he hisses then attacks. I think he was hand reared, then abused, as he was adult when he was purchased from the pet shop. I'm training him to fly to me, it's working, now he will come if I'm about 2 metres away. He is on a seed diet, but I'm slowly changing it. Trouble is, I have to bring the vegies to school and serve before the bell goes.

I love to see pictures of our birds with those sweet, almond-shaped eyes. I always know the little guys are content and relaxed.

She's lovely. What a great job you've done with her.

Thanks everyone for your really kind comments. :)

Rosalie is a Cinnamon Pearl, SPLIT to Pied. :p

And Rosalie is now in good hands.
Congratulations, she is a lucky Tiel.
And great to hear she has taken to your other girls.
