I dont know what happened.I was gone for one day, everybody had food and water, clean cage.. I think there was too much stuff in the cage like toys and all kinds of swings and perches.. I've been looking at rehoming four of my 7 parakeets and she was the only female I had picked to keep.
I put her body into a glass jar with an enzyme wash and when her body is all bones I'm going to peroxide whiten the bones and put her into a clear resin as a paper weight. I know its kind of gross and morbid but I want her to be something special that I can have on my book shelf.
I'm upset of course because I lost my little buddy but also because she was still under a year old. I hate when something that could have had a long life dies so young. :(

I am sorry for your loss, it is hard to lose a pet:(

I think the paperweight is a lovely idea. Permanently preserved.

So sorry for your loss, just recently lost a beloved pet of my own and it's so hard. We're here to help you through this if you need us :)

So sorry for your loss
Taken at such a young age
We are all here for you
Be strong

Hugs

So sorry you lost your beautiful sweet baby. She'll live in your heart forever and was a loved little creature because of you when her soul was still on earth.

I'm so sorry for your loss. She was beautiful. I too think the paper weight is a good idea.

oh no!! :( I remember when you posted a topic about her a long time ago, with that picture! She was so cute! Do you have any idea what happened? You said you thought there might have been too many things in her cage, but did you see any signs of injuries?

Poor little birdie :( I feel so bad for you, I know how much it hurts to lose a pet. They are more than that, they are our friends. When Buddy died in November, it was absolutely horrible. I hadn't had him for that long, but we got to be so close. I was having a lot of problems with depression, and he was helping me, just by giving me companionship. When he died, I didn't think I was going to be able to get through it. I felt so sad and lonely, and my room seemed so empty without him, so I wanted to get another bird. I got Chipper, and she's been a great little friend too. She could never replace Buddy, of course, but she's not meant to replace him...just to be another little friend so I don't feel so alone. She's doing very well and is happy. I still miss Buddy, but having Chipper is a big help.

I actually lost a "real" human friend a little over 3 years ago, and that was the worst thing I had ever gone through in my life...but even so, it still hurts when you lose a pet, and losing Buddy was almost as bad.

I do believe animals have a soul, and I'm sure your bird's spirit is somewhere where she'll be happy.

Sorry about your little companion, she was adorable.

i am sorry for your loss, Chipper sounds like a great little guy, and i love his name! Depression is tough, its amazing how animals can help.
OP- I send my deepest condolences, you gave her a great life. I think the paper weight is a great idea to remember her by.
