Thanks everyone!

I just can't get over how so many people are not just afraid, but down right hate these dogs. I bet you if every person that is afraid of pit bulls sucked it up and met one, it'd be a much different world right now.

My mom was seriously a pit bull extremest. She HATED pit bulls. She was one of those "they just need to kill them all" type. However, after education, and especially after interacting with the shelter dogs herself, this is her

:
Oh, and btw, the dog in that picture is the one that is getting their belly rubbed in the video.
So sad. They are now a restricted breed in my state. We now have lots of "american staffy's" here. Many other breeds are just as dangerous but as you said a few d**kheads get them to make up for thier lack of man-hood and the whole breed's branded as vicous.
BSL is so sad.

I hate it. Instead of banning dog breeds which isn't going to do any good anyway, they need to start making stiffer penalties to those that own any dangerous dog, period! Heck, most people that own dogs that escape from the yard and maul someone get little more than a $100 fine for a roaming animal, ugh... I agree, there are so many breeds that could do just as much damage. But no one is going around saying, "Let's ban boxers/great danes/st. bernards/huskies" or whatever other large dog breed you can think of. If they fell into the wrong hands, they'd be just as dangerous!
Those are wonderful! I think its a great thing to spread the word and what your doing to help these amazing doggies
I'm not too fond of the song, but thats just me. I like the video with pictures and video. Although they are both great!
Thanks.

And no sweat about the song, lol. It does grow on ya. I never used to like it (the song is actually from the end of the first Land Before Time movie

, lol), but after listening to it a few times it grew on me, and I thought the lyrics were perfect for this.
I know what you mean. People hear Pit Bull and freak out here. In the US the most "bite" prone breed is the Cocker Spaniel. Pits are acutally very loving in their family. They just have bery strong "pack ties" and don't let go when they do bite.
If I weren't getting out of the "dog business" as my dogs age, I'd definitely look at a Pit or Pit mix.
Yup, definitely more people being bitten by labs/goldens and small breeds than any other breed! But of course, do you think the media will give those attention? Nope. If you dig, you can find stories of children being mauled to death by pomeranians, labs, and other well known family breeds. When it comes to children, it's not going to take THAT big or powerful of a dog to really injure them. Heck, I'd hate to see all of the children's faces around the world that have been disfigured because of chihuahuas.
And yes, I realize that pit bulls do have a certain level of tenacity and won't let go, and you could say that makes them a higher risk. But a properly socialized dog shouldn't bite in the first place... And a responsible owner will never put their dogs in situations where they CAN get out and hurt someone!
I also love Pit Bull smiles. Almost as good as labrador smiles.
I know, bully smiles are my absolute favorite!
