I got sophie from a lady when she was only 3 months old.. the lady couldnt handle her at all. she wanted a baby really bad but once she got her the feedings over took her live and sophie was to much for her to take. I have wanted a Cockatoo sence i was a little girl but grew up with an amozon, i loved my mothers amozon so much and when i seen Sophies pic i knew she was the one for me. When i got her she was still on 2 hand feedings a day and in a playpen lol she had no idea how to perch...the person that placed the little ID band on her foot had cought her toe in it so her toe was bent backward and was slowly breaking as she grew bigger. It was also not alowing her to walk on that foot. i had to have it romoved right away and have her mirco chipped ! we then worked everyday in rehab to fix her little toe so she could move it and learn to bend it like a normal bird... Today she can run, climb, jump and swing like crazy LOL and is the love of my life !
