Never posted my Hello

I just found this forum this month. I got my first bird in March of last year; an Orange Wing Amazon whose owner died & he got bounced around a bit after that. I'm semi retired so I get to spend 24/7 with my kids, dog & bird & I couldn't be happier. My little man is sitting on my shoulder right now & playing with my earlobe as I type.

His name is Precious. I'm not thrilled with the name but since he was 11 when I got him I didn't think it was fair to change. He truly is wonderful. I give him his respect & he responds. He papertrained himself in the last 2 months. I'm teaching him the Hokey Pokey right now. He has the turn down but I'm having trouble with the wing in & wing out. He does all of this wonderful stuff when we're alone & as soon as I bring someone in the room to see he stands there & looks at me like I'm nuts. Then I'm the one doing the hokey pokey myself while people laugh at me & he just cocks his head like he has no clue he's humiliating me. lol. I want to get a bumper sticker that says "My parrot is smarter than your honor roll student"
