Annoying behavior?
My Gcc is 3 years old. Total diva this one. Not touchy feely and just likes to lounge around looking over her world. Lately she's begun a habit that is driving me nuts! She's begun chewing on her bars and banging her seed guard at night. I've tried different toys to keep her busy but she ignores them. She's a bird that just loves to relax and look over her kingdom. No fuss. No play. She's my second in command and she knows she's top flock.
She eats Lafebers pellets with a seed mix and her fruit and veg every day. Gets plenty of attention 'her way'. And is perfectly healthy.
She's also started acting jealous when I'm paying attention to another bird. She could care less I'm there until I focus my attention on another. Then she's yelling, banging around, or throwing things. So I ignore her or get her out on her play top first before getting anyone else.
I just worry about her chewing the bars and chewing off the coating or toxicity issues.
Any ideas on what to try? I've ignored her, yelled at her, played music, more out time, strict bed times, a night light... Nothing has worked and she's driving me nuts.
She is molting and showing nesting behavior (she's alone and around no males) and this is usually only at bed time when I turn the lights out. She's always been cage aggressive so adding a box to her cage would just make it worse.
Open to suggestions!!
