Rainbow Lorikeet : Bobbie
Thinkn of gettn another bird (cockateil?) when Bobbie gets her new cage nxt year.
Bt the breeder who I got her off said that lories dnt like other types
of birds. I am just wondering if this is true

I know someone who has a rainbow lorikeet, a galah, a green cheek conure and a cockateil. They all get along pretty well. They're kept in cages and I wouldn't say they are best friends, but they don't hate each other and barely get into fights. The lori also used to play with a budgie (never hurt it). It also has play dates with various other birds; Eclectus, Alexandrine, another conure, an Amazon, etc.
However, this particular rainbow lorikeet could be different from most *shrugs*
I think usually it depends on the individual bird...

Thnx. yea well my lories rather strange lol bt I'll keep thinkn on
gettn another bird untill next year

You could still get another bird, just don't let the lory and the 'tiel out at the same time for safety's sake. Personally I have two white bellied caiques and a goffin's cockatoo... the WBC's live and play together, but I NEVER let them near the cockatoo. She's a much bigger bird than them, and that would just be a recipe for disaster. I know a lot of people let all their birds play together, from macaws to eclectus parrots... I honestly don't know how they do it! It's so adorable... I wish I knew the secret. But since I don't, safety is of utmost importance for my fids.

I think the main concern here would have been from the breeder perhaps thinking you would cage them together and as one is nectar based and the other seed then yes this would definatly cause problems
I used to have a Lorri and a teil and they were great together as long as supervision is always given then you should be fine
