new cage bad?

I ordered new cages but someone told me they ate bad,apperantly the wire is galvenised .
My mother already has 2 in use and has ordered 3 also.

That's awful, I know you and your mom were so excited and the cages look amazing. Have you contacted the company or tested the cages for zinc? According to the results, maybe it isn't too late for you to cancel your order, and under the circumstances, possibly return your mom's cages for a refund?

i told my mother i was cancelling my order and she flipped out,saying i was going to embarrass her,and he has sold hundreds off those cages,and that it isn't acceptable to cancel ,ordered is ordered.
i am going to have a talk with her about it tonight,and it is not going to be pretty ,when i called her with this she pretty much attacked me,saying hings like that and when i mentioned that i better invest in ss she said i shouldn't cause in a few few years i won't like it anymore and get another,that i should buy those when i am on my own,yeah ...cause i am going to have the money for it then.she was really angry,

I'm sorry, but I honestly don't understand why your mother would get angry. You are potentially SAVING birds' lives.

well we had that talk ,i didn't get trough ,as it stands i am canceling and she is using them.can only hope is is safe.

Your birds lives are far more important than your moms "pride" over some cages! That sucks the cages are being made with potentially toxic materials because they were really really nice looking Have you talked to the company about the potential harm the materials they use could do to birds and offer some suggestions on safe alternatives? Then again, I cannot imagine WHY a company making custom (and presumably not cheap) bird cages wouldn't be 100% positive the materials were 100% non-toxic...

As for your mom, explain that just like certain metals are toxic to us (such as cadmium and lead) there are metals that are toxic to parrots (like zinc) and that zinc is used in the galvanization process. Also explain the symptoms of zinc poisoning, like severe neurological problems, vomiting, diarrhea and death. Perhaps she would understand better what the concern is here.

That is such a shame, those cages look so nice. Have you been able to reach the company to discuss what they are made of?

they said they were safe,but it could be just sales talk,anyway i am going to cancel ,i rather be a worry ward than be without my fids.
I have already mailed a company that makes ss cages for their pricelist.
it is a lot more expensive,but at least i know it is safe.

as it turns out it's on the site,it is only mentioned once,it is from te brand esafort or also know ass Cavatorta.
