So I went out and got myself a Jenday Conure. The one problem is I'm still unsure as to how much I should be feeding him as well as if Zupreem Natural pellets along with some fresh veggies should be sufficient for my new friend? Also someone recommended me to feed him nutriberries but I'm a little skeptical of them, so any information on them would be great. Thanks in advance!

I was told they will only eat what their system tells them they need to survive on. When I bought my first GCC Sheldon from the breeder she told me to keep the Roudybush pellets avail at all times. She also suggested 1 Tbl of seeds and 1 Tbl of bean mix in the morning and change that out in the afternoon with 1 tsp of fresh seeds. Vegies are better than fruit, but I give a little of both. Thats just my opinion and what seems to work for Sheldon. I'm a new bird owner by 2 years now. You'll get other expert that will chime in...Have fun with your new friend

I feed Sgt. Pepper a mix of fresh veggies, fresh fruit, pellets, seed mix and I throw in some hard boiled egg here and there.

She seems to love broccoli, bean sprouts, cherries, blueberries, sweet peppers, snap peas, green beans, hard boiled eggs and is okay with many other things.

Since I have the one bird I buy one or two of each veggie or fruit (if it's not something we will eat) and chop them up at the beginning of the week. Each morning I give her the veggies. Later in the day I give her fruit (her favorite) and there is always pellet/seed mixture available.

Thanks for the input! I guess I'll start doing a chop again as I use to do one for the tiel I had. I've heard of the eggs and chicken thing but isn't that like cannibalism?

I free feed my gcc his zupreem natural pellets he always has some available and doesn't over eat. He hates nutriberries but I have heard they are good for them 8n moderation like 2 per day. The veggies should be as much as he will eat everyday. My gcc eats more veggies and fruit and cooked bird food than anything else

So something I've also noticed is that this guy is awfully quiet. I know Jenday's are known to be pretty loud. It seems like my Jenday is trying to scream at times but just can't get it out.
