Just got a 4 month old Peach faced lovebird a week ago. He or her seemed to be warming up to me but the past couple days he runs from me like crazy. I also have a parakeet, can the lovebird fall in love with the parakeet?

YES, they can! LOL I got a female lovie and 2 baby male budgies from the same lady, and they are very bonded and all live in one cage now. There is definitely a love story between my lovie and one of the budgies - they kiss and preen each other! :D But I tamed them all before I placed them together, so they all step up and like my shoulder. :) Lovebirds tend to run - just teach him to step up.

Yes take it nice and slow no jerky fast movements. You can teach them with millit, put it in you hand, and congrats on the new baby.

Ok thanks for replying! The first few days they didn't care about each other but now when I let my lovebird out now he just goes to Milo's cage (the parakeet) and could care less about me. So now I take Milo in the other room when I let the lovebird out. They aren't in the same cage, should I keep them away from each other while I'm trying to get him tame?

he wont bond with you if there's another bird

I respectfully disagree. I have several birds and they are all bonded to us. You just have to take time with each bird, and make sure they still get one on one attention.
