Doogie - Catalina Hybrid Macaw
I just discovered this bird board as I have been longing to find a good board since my last one closed for macaw business. I consider myself to be a serious macaw enthusiast and have been so for the past 11 years. My family doctor gave me Doogie a Catalina Hybrid in '99 and I took in an unwanted B&G, Kayko in '02. I bought Scarlet Macaw Clifford 1/06/04 when he did not sell for Christmas. Unlike most people who keep their macaws at home, I keep mine well trimmed so I am unafraid to take them all on outings in public, especially to the beach, shopping centers, the arts market, and city parks where I introduce people to macaws and educate them a bit on how they are. At home I make things with their shed feathers and often give feathers to children in the parks:red:

Welcome to the forum. I bet you get lots of comments when you take your flock to the beach.

Wow HRH I see lotsa folks have red-fronts on this board.... I'm trying to remember what a "ruby" macaw is made from. So folks aren't to keen on promoting hybrids like my Catalina Doogie, but he was my first bird and a gift at that, so I'm just thankful to have him as a great pet. At the beach we have quite a number of foreign tourists, especially from India/Pakistan for some reason. Either for state legal or religious reasons they apparently are not permitted to have birds like macaws there, so they REALLY take pictures of them when I show up. Naturally everybody wants to PET the birds, which just isn't possible. Clifford would take a chunk out of them like Pac-Man. I usually go to the beach at Ponte Vedra, which is very close to where the TPC golf classic is played. Does anybody on the board have a Hyacinth??

Today I posted some pictures of things I have made with shed macaw feathers up in the photo section you might want to try making
