Hello everyone! My name is Ricky and I have a 6 month old female African Ringneck. Her name is Kiwi. I got her from a previous owner but I am pretty sure she was taken from the wild and sold to a pet store which clipped her wings. As expected, she is scared and trusts no one lol I am going to let her wings grow out because after all birds do fly...I am currently working with her daily by talking to her from a distance, not invading her space, and trying not to scare her with any fast movements or changes. I think i am doing good so far as she has kind of warmed up and started doing calls and squawks. I let her have her freedom to roam outside of the cage daily until bedtime. Well, that's it for now. I hope to hear from you guys. Maybe some advice or training tips...?

Welcome and be welcomed. You are doing good so far. One tip - parrots are ruled by their belly, so figure out Rickys favorite treat, and then only you offer it to her, to use as a training tool. Take your time , after all ringnecks live a long time.
