hello everyone. Checking in from northern il. My fiance and I are the proud new keepers of a princess of whales parrot. He is a little boy just over a year old and his name is you guessed it... Thunder lol. We went into petland to buy fish and took a look at some of the birds. My fiance says she has always wanted one and I was indifferent, until i met thunder. I put my finger down into the cage and he jumped right up. Emidietly he started working his way up to my shoulder and giving me kisses haha. I was a little blown away when i saw the price though. I told the staff and my fiance that we would think about it with intent of forgetting about it. Didnt happen. That night i actually had a dream about him, I usually dont remember my dreams. After that i couldnt stop thinking about this cute little bird. So after alot of thinking and discussion and research. We went back and went all in. Took him home last night and got his nice large cage set up. He has lots of toys and treats to make him feel at home. he was singing and talking to me alot this morning but im giving him time to adjust. Im looking forward to learning as much as i can about these beautiful creatures from this forum. Here are a few pics for now of Thunder. I realize I shouldnt have had him on my head but he just kinda hopped up there when my fiance took the pic lol. This is a coming home present for me and my fiance. I was gone for a year over in the sand box and we are getting married in june so this is a great way for us to start our family lol. Any way glad to be here and I want to learn as much as i can to keep this beautiful little buddy healthy and happy.
