new member with parakeets and ... ?

Hello all! I live in south florida and have 2 parakeets, both friendly and nice. My teenage sons love them and we might get another bigger bird. We dont want something too needy, but will play with us more than the parakeets do. Any advice?

Welcome! I would recommend a cockatiel, GCC, or Parrotlet (yes I know they’re small but they have big bird personalities). Quakers, Senegals, Caiques, Indian ringnecks, Aratinga conures... all great choices too. Let the bird pick you!

So many possibilities, if you live near a rescue or sanctuary, a large variety of larger birds will be available for you to see and handle.
