Keupi - a Senegal.
I love the fall and there was a twinge of 'crisp' in the air today so I made my first home-made soup of the season (chicken noodle). I also love eating soup from bread bowls - you know - the hard crust type shape into a circle that you hollow out.

Well, I finally found a good use for the hollowed out pieces... and Keupi devoured two of them (rest are refrigerated).

I set my broiler on high and sprayed a cookie sheet with a non-stick spray.

Then, I lightly spritzed the bread pieces with the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray, and dipped them in my soup so it was well coated with broth (nothing more than broth).

I broiled them for about 10 minutes (slightly crisp). I strung them on a kabob with other veggies and a piece of chicken from the soup. Either I haven't been feeding him (NOT!!) or he really loved them because there was barely a crumb left.

(As an aside - I don't generally feed him soup like chicken noodle because of the celery issue.)

I'm planning to make chili on the first 'raw' New England day and plan to have it 'bread bowl style' and will try the same thing.

By the way - I tasted one of the crispers and loved it... may take tomorrows leftovers (and my other half of the 'bread bowl) and experiment with a longer broiling time.

It was a lark thing and thought I would share it... but they're tasty! I can't wait to try it with chili!
