Peachface lovebird x 2
Hello, I recently found a lovebird. At the time I had now idea what kind it was ect... I went to a pet store to buy a cage and food. The person sold me a bag of food mark "cockatiels" and while the bird have been eating it normally I'm wondering if I need to buy a food specially mark "lovebird"?
Thank you.

I'm assuming it's a seed mix. The best thing to do, actually, is to get your bird pellets and get him switched to a pelleted diet. Seed diets are not nutritious for birds at all.

Have you tried to find the owner of said lovebird?

I Google for a "bird" lost and found listing in my area but found nothing.
Where i found it was no where near residential or i would've posted fliers.
It's a commercial area with no house/apartment near by.
Thanks for the answer about pellet food, I'll look into that.
Local pretty stores doesn't seen to carry pellets, most just have the seed mixed stuffs.

If you get a picture up we cold tell you probably what it is. If it's marked cockatiel it's probably a seed mix. I'd order online pellets, because one it's healthier and 2 in bulk is much cheaper.

It's Kaytee brand. Look like seeds and also pellet stuffs mix together.

Any particular brand of pellet to shop for?

Yes, you'll need to order online most likely. There are many good brands, I use Roudybush. :)

some seed mixes are made for both cockatiels and lovebirds. it's all about the size
of the seeds, i guess. but yeah, try switching to a pellet diet and see if the lovie
takes to it. much better than seeds.

Also lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.:D
