New pionus is beaky and I would like advice :)

My new guy ( 1.5 weeks) has started to beak a bit when he is not liking something (e.g. Going back to cage, not getting to climb on shoulder, etc). I do not want this to escalate. I have done research and have seen suggestions relate to making something in his cage more desirable when I put him in....maybe show him a treat. Is there anything else I can do? What should my response be when he beaks my hand while he is on it?

Two fingers to push the beak away, a stern "no biting" or "too hard" accompanied by a dirty look.
