Please dump any new puppy tips, tricks, or advice here. :O
My boyfriend bought a purebred xoloitzcuintli (Mexican hairless) puppy. He's really good so far. He's very friendly and loves people. We're working on potty training right now, an getting him to not chew on certain things, as well as any usual training. He tends to pee/poop on rugs, especially whenever we bring in a new one (bought two recently, both have been soiled multiple times). We could use advice for any kinds of things, such as: feeding, leash training, off-leash training, potty training, people training, behavior training, not begging for food, not chewing on things that are not his, command training.
Also, our cat does not want to be in the house anymore because of him, and I'm worried about that. She will still come to the door when I call her, but she meows to go outside the whole time she's in and won't settle down. I want them to be able to live in harmony, and am not sure what I can do for her to make it any less scary or easier. She runs anytime she hears or sees him. If I open the door to go outside, she will slip past me. :\
Thanks in advance everyone!

I’m a dog trainer and it all comes down to understanding your dogs needs you get the basics down and everything else falls into place.
1. The most important fact dogs need a calm pack leader to direct them
2. Dogs need exercise
3.socialising your puppy is vital but steer clear of dog parks as not all dogs will respect your puppy’s boundaries and your puppy should learn boundaries are good
4. There are three different personalities in the dog world-
A. Front of pack dogs/pick of litter/more dominant, these dogs are very confident commonly picked out as police, search and rescue, etc. if they don’t have sufficient pack leader they will be overly dominant and territorial getting annoyed with you when you don't do as they say.
B. Middle of pack dog/pet quality/ happy go lucky, these dogs just want to play all day, these are those dogs you see on t.v licking every ones face and chewing the pillows, if not given a sufficient pack leader they will jump on everyone zero respect pee all over the place and chew everything.
C. Back of pack/runt/shy, these dogs are commonly used as therapy dogs or dogs that detect seizures, in a wolf pack these are the dogs That detect danger first, there very sensitive to there surroundings, if not given a proper pack leader they will be very anxious, nervous and fearful you also need to put in more work with proper socialising.
How to recognise each one-
A. Will be the first, the first to great all the dogs at the dog park, the first to reach mum as a pup, etc.
B. These guys will just seem happy wanting to play with everyone also the second to reach mum as a pup.
C. The last to reach mum, these guys can be called polite or scaredy cats.

Hope this helps just remember raise the dog before train, also watch some of Cesar Millans stuff I know he has a website cesarsway.com you can explor that.
