Hello,

I have a 4.5 week old quaker that i am hand feeding. I got him from a local breeder and I am wondering a few things. One how much fuzz do they still have at 4 weeks old? I raised cockatiels and ringnecks and they were feather more then this little guy is at 4 weeks. Just wondering if that is normal. He is a bigger guy and eating well and bright and alert. Here is a photo of him.

I can't help you, but I wanted to say he sure is a cutie! Hopefully someone who knows will come along soon.

Yea from what I found is some are feather and others are not at 4 weeks old He is doing great so I wont worry to much

:greenyellow:My new little guy is 7 weeks. His flight feathers haven't grown in completely but he isn't fuzzy. I am hand feeding him too. Started the weaning today by offering millet which he liked. Tomorrow I'm trying pellets soaked in apple juice. I'll hand feed them to him as suggested here. So much fun awaits.

i have one 11 weeks, hes looks more like the quaker above, but still doesnt completely have all his under wings feathers in yet. Youre good.

I'm sorry, I have no experience with hand feeding. I just had to say your baby quaker is absolutely precious! Both my QP's were much older when I got them, hard to imagine either of them being so small. Please keep posting photos, I would love to see this little one grow up.
