New to birds and new bird

HAHA...if I tried to hold Sassy like that I would come out with a bloody stump where my thumb used to be...lol. That is really awesome that you can handle him like that. Sassy is much better than when I got her, but I have to take everything VERY slow with her.

Ok thanks everyone ,

I expected to have to take it a lot slower with him but he just wants to be with me.

We realized when I'm at work he's pretty quiet but when I'm home he screams until I give him attention .

I didn't let him taste it , I wiped it off real good so he could check it out

I just realized she's a female , she flicks her wings while making noises and then puts her butt in the air .

She likes me a lot though , I can restrain her with both hands and flip her onto her back for a few seconds .

She's very pretty. :)

Congrats and adopting her, looks like she's adapting very well!

Careful touching her all over the body - anywhere but the head is you coming on to her in bird language. It's had not to sometime's, just try keeping body touching a little less. She's a GORGOUS bird, so beautiful!

Rosie my galah cockatoo was also open banded when I adopted her. Her bands tell me she was imported through New York. Unsure of the date, I just assume 1993 or earlier, since that's when importing parrots for the pet trade became illegal.
