Does anybody call either their Congo or Timneh African Grey Parrots by nicknames/abbreviated names? Just curious, because I have a whole bunch of nicknames for my 4.5 year old pet Congo African Grey Parrot, Aziza (which means "gorgeous" in Swahili.).

They are as follows, in no particular order:

'Ziza

Pretty Brrd

Aziza Grrrl

Sweetie

Sweetheart

AzizaGirl

'ZizaGirl

Funny Birrd

PrettyBirrd

Cutie, Cutie-pie

My CAG is named Charlie but he likes to call himself 'Charles','Charlie boy' or 'Charlie Charlesberg' :D He amuses me greatly!

My African gray was bought as an egg so I named him Eggo, his nick name is Eggie.

I don't have a nickname for mine yet but I call her a good girl all the time. She was previously taught a few phrases with "baby" them and yesterday she combined them to say "good baby girl". What clever creatures they are :) I'm a verybhappy parront right now.

Those names are quite cool! Thanks for the heads-up!

Wow! You've got lots of different pets, with cool-sounding names! "Eggo" or "Eggie" for an African Grey? That's funny!!

Yup! Parrots, in general, are extremely clever birds, but African Greys top them all, I think.

I won't be bringing my baby CAG home until the summer, and won't know the gender for a few more weeks. I do have names (and corresponding nicknames) picked out for either gender, but for now I just call it Little One.

I have nicknames for my medium birds. My cockatiel Lucy's full name is actually Lucifer. I often call her Chicken, and Starshine.
My green cheek conures are collectively called my Gremlins. Genevieve is regularly called Gené (Ginny, but more French and pretentious) and Junebug (Genevieve is essentially Juniper in French). Phaedrus, my rescue, is called Phae, and I often just refer to him as Handsome.
All three of them together are called my Monsters.

My budgies do not have separate nicknames, but together I call them the Shrimps.

Ours is officially named "Reno". There's not much available in the way of a short version of that, so as a nickname, my wife often calls him "Monkey Fart" (I have NO idea where that came from!).

Owing to his proclivity towards verbal excess, I sometimes call him "Chatterbox" or "Sir Gabsalot". While he knows his name, he'll answer to anything, if there's a cookie in the offing...

Stinker is a common name in this house as well :P
Along with String Bean, little Red Butt, Birdie Boo, and Precious Little Angel when she is being especially naughty
