They do make some oven cleaning products that are low-volatile and "green". I used one with no harm to my birds -- but a lot of elbow grease was required.
I prefer to occasionally run the self-clean cycle when the weather is such that the birds and I can hang out on the patio until the cycle has completed and the house has thoroughly aired out. You could probably take the same approach with a conventional oven cleaner if you wanted to do so.
Have you tried Nature's Miracle on the carpet? It is similar to Poop Off in that it is enzymatic, but I think it is more concentrated. YOu would saturate the spot and leave it for a while, then blot up the residue as thoroughly as possible with a paper towel or absorbent cloth. The idea is that the product "digests" the organics, then you extract the residue. Might work with a significant amount of Poop Off and no scrubbing, but giving it time for the exzymes to break down the stain.
