Hey PG and welcome to the forum, not much different than with human kids, you can't make them eat what they don't like, keep trying different fruits and veggies till you find the right one's ;), if and when you do find some that your fid (fid=feathered kid) likes, rotate them from day to day so they don't tire of the same foods and not eat those as well..... enjoy your stay :)

Welcome to the forum!:D

How are you serving it? My IRN prefers her veggies grated and loves it cooked and mashed until fine. I mix water with the mashed veggies to make it sloppy. If I just cut it in blocks then she just throws it away. Green peas are also one of her favorites.

She loves apples, cut in half and peeled with the core removed - she only likes green apples. She also loves grapes if it is sliced in half.

Hope that helps.

Yep, it's just trial and error until you find the right thing. Also like kids, I've found that our birds prefer sweeter options - grapes, berries, corn, carrots, peas - rather that "regular" veggies - broccoli (unless it's slaw), green beans, etc.

i give my fid, grated carrots, banana slices and peaches all slice, he just ignores it

Dusty didnt like most fruits and Veggies when i first got him. I kept offering him them however. At first he would only eat apples and bananas. Now he likes cooked broccoli, grapes, sometimes carrots. It all depends on how i offer him the fresh food.
