And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...after dealing with clearing 15 inches of snow,in 50+ mph gusts of wind for two hours,I came in and made a big,hot bowl,of cinnamon and brown sugar oatmeal...boy of boy it was yummy and hit the spot:D

Amy had never had oatmeal ( though I have read on the forum many times of parronts giving their fids some).
So I put two spoonfuls in her nummy bowl and told her to go try it. She looked at me,then in her bowl, back at me,as to say "whats THIS stuff your giving me??" and she hesitantly put her face in the bowl.
OMG! she chowed down! Oatmeal all over her beaky,I almost heard her smackin' her lips (beak? lol)
She absolutely enjoyed it. I only put in two small teaspoon full, but when she was done and I looked, there wasn't a morsel left.
Looks like I found an occasional treat for her..thanks for the idea folks!

And none for Beebs. tsk tsk.

Yeah same happened with Lincoln. Just wanted to have a bowl of oatmeal and he was doing everything in his power to get to it. So I made him a bowl of plain oatmeal and mashed some blueberries into it. He was very happy.

Hmmm, there are several dangerous place to be in our home. For some odd reason, they all have something to do with being between our Amazon and what he wants! Food items seem to top this list and Oatmeal is up near the top!

Most of my birds, especially Gonzo the BFA dearly love oatmeal! Either straight oatmeal or mixed with either oat bran or Malt-o-Meal.

Yes, oatmeal a clear favorite. I use it in Nigel's birdie bread, he is a slob whenever it's around. No manners.

Perhaps Oatmeal with no sugar next time? Otherwise all good. :-)

Yes the sugar..my bad :o maybe that's why she liked it so much lol..but it wasn't much. Next time I'll give her "plain"..prolly turn her beak up at it lol.

Yes Plum exactly the same! He does like it plain too so perhaps Amy will as well especially if Dad is eating some :) The cinnamon is good too btw.

Oatmeal is a hit at my place too =)

But I like it pretty thick and when Nacho gets into that stuff he flings it all over making a mess for me to clean up. But boy he loves it!

I shared my oatmeal with Fidget yesterday morning and when I got home his bowl was so clean it looked like it had never had anything in it!

Jim, we tried oatmeal yesterday. We finally found the one food that Salty likes to FLING, reaching record distances, and hitting Geri in the face while she was reading, across the room. LOL, yes his bowl was empty, but for all the wrong reasons. Owe you one, buddy. I hear 1/2" ball bearing balls are very tastey - you should have Amy try a handfull ( and duck as she flings them at you).

Chicken absolutely loves oatmeal. I usually put just cinnamon in hers, although I'll occasionally put some red pepper flakes in it. I'm not sure which way she actually prefers, either way the bowl is fiercely guarded until it's empty.
