sun conure!
So I have a conure who loves to cuddle and isnt happy if I dont do it. Iv had her for a few years with no issues with doing this till A personal issue appeared in my life where I really do not like any type of poop touching me. Ironic I have a bird... lol. I have no issue with her all day if shes on her perch and had a bath. I have no issue at all. The issue is shes always at the bottom of her cage playing with her poop. iv tried to stop it. Shes also just a bird playing so. Now I dont know if its okay if I bathe her everyday... Or at least almost. When she takes a bath I just put the shower on and she chills and drinks some water. Currently I dont give her a shower every day. Her cage is cleaned but shes a bird lol and as we all know they poop a lot... So no matter how much I clean her cage its always going to be in my nightmares LOLLL Please do not say get rid of her. She is very connected to me and gets super upset when im gone. Im trying to find ways to make us both happy and feel comfy!:D So advice on how to get her to stop with her poo or if showering her a few mins in the morning is okay before i put her on her perch.

Hmmm. Do you have a metal grate at the bottom of her cage so the poop falls beyond her reach? That would keep her clean. The bird's vent is the only part of a bird that could potentially get poop on it. Most birds bathe by standing in shallow water and splashing around. That would rinse her vent area. My budgies like to bathe under the kitchen faucet spray. I hold a small plate under the spray and they stand on the plate splashing around. This cleans their feet and vent pretty well. Birds are very clean animals and unless they have diarrhea their poop is ejected from their body without leaving any residue on their vent feathers. They groom off any poop that possibly sticks there pretty quickly but healthy birds seldom if ever get poop on their feathers. You say you put her on her perch. What do you mean?
I caution you against forcing her to bathe when she doesn't want to. It would be cruel and perhaps bad for her health. You should never use any kind of soap, shampoo or detergent to bathe your bird unless she's gotten into something and she has grease, oil, or a sugary substance on her feathers that you must get off. That said, if she likes to bathe, there's no reason she can't bathe every day as long as she wants to and you never use soap.

I don't know what happened for you (I'm not asking) to develop an irrational fear of bird poop (the least offensive kind of animal poop because it has no odor) but it sounds like you should seek help to try to get past this. I don't know how you can enjoy your bird if you're constantly worried about getting poop on you or getting pooped on.

Well you know the like grill looking thing poop still gets on it when she poops. YEAH THE METAL GRATE she gets poop on it still... sadly. and iv tried giving her a bath in every other way but she hates it and screams at me till I take her away no idea why. Iv even tried to like bribe her and stuff and she just hates it. Only the shower lmao. and yeah no i never use soap i just wipe her claws in the water and let her do the rest hersekf:) and thank you! and well idc if she poops on me nor am i exactly worried about it during the day but when shes directly playing in poop i dont like holding her

Try spraying cooking spray on the grate. The poops will slip between the bars of the grate.

Don't use an aerosol spray. Would be better to wipe it on.

I use non aerosol sprays routinely. First because more product for the price. Later as bird safe option. I hope this helps with the problem.
