So I introduced Moses to my other cockatiels. Within a minute of meeting Monica he's in courtship mode. Displaying his best talking and whistling! And Monica is totally impressed look at her bum in the air! They were ready to mate! But Monica is only 4 months old!??

Oh no now he's testing his charms on Lucy!!!

LOL. Stud boy, eh? You should start calling him that, lol!
He insists he should have babies... ;) whether you will allow that to happen or not is the question.

OMG he is like totally obsessed with being a stud!! I hope he's not always like this LOL and both my girls think he's wonderful! I might need to put a breeding box in there in case they decide to lay eggs!!!
It was funny too because while he was courting her he was saying "pretty bird, woot woo!!"

I actually captured it on video and will post it as soon as I can get the sound to work!

How do I get them to mate? It'd be kinda cute to have babies in the house :) Moses has his own cage but it's kinda small :( Lucy lives in a very big cage!!

Do not allow them!!!!! At 4 months old, the females aren't mature enough to lay, it is better when they reach at least 1 year of age. So no nest boxes and best to keep him separated from the girls.

Monica is young Mikey but Lucy is old! I can mate him with Lucy?

I'm glad Rocky is not affected by his charms becase I have been hoping he's a boy :)

Yes you can mate him with Lucy! Just so that you know once you let them mate, Moses may become aggressive towards you! Same with Lucy....

Yeah I don't want them aggressive :( I want babies though, but I would rather my birds like me! Lucy is really sexual at the moment though, she does the bum thing even when I just pat her. I posted a video of it.

Would they mate in Moses' small cage or would they need to be in a bigger cage? It's something I'll have to think about if I'm going to do it..

This is the cage I use to house two pairs during breeding. Once I get my walk in aviary built this coming year I will attach the nest boxes within the aviary instead.

That cage have the nest box doors built-in on the top left and top right sides of the cage. It's a rather a inexpensive cage to own.

He's also screeching at the girls too...is that part of courtship or is that just being aggressive?

How is he screeching???

He kind of lunges at her and makes an upleasant noise if she comes too close but otherwise he's talking away

Now the budgie is obsessed with him too...it seems none of the girls can keep away!

Also, do they do this courtship all year round or just in the warm weather??
