So I get home from work today and Bosley is all over me as usual. After we finished dinner he went in his cage and started the mating noise. His.wings were shaking and he was doing the dance. Next he started hanging upside down from the top of his cage, but instead of doing his usual playful call he started regurgitating.
Thank goodness.it was short lived and he's calm now.
Open to advice How long does.this go on for?

Nip it in the bud. The bigger deal you make of it, the longer it will last. Bite the bullet and put him away if he starts getting too lovey/dovey. Cutting back on fat content of food and more greens/veggies will help . Higher humidity will help. Less "chew" toys. Equal amounts of dark/daylight. Be aware that you're more likely to see hormonal behavior in the early AM and late PM and avoid the triggers.

Mid winter to spring. Letting them sleep longer, Have no "caves", no petting other then head/neck and upper breast, and no warm food can help bring down hormones.

Thanks, I'll do that. it only lasted a few minutes and now he's being his regular trouble making cuddle bug.He reallybis opening up and exploring and getting into everything. so nice to see.

Ok
So it's been just over 10 days and besides a few mating sounds that last only a minute everything is calm and normal.
He has not been aggressive at all thankfully.
My question is will it get worse or with his age is that possibly it for the season.

Thanks

He may just be taking a little break, lol. :)

Hunter's been next to impossible to take out. She looks ALL over for a place to hide and nest in. And if she isn't looking for a place, ALL she wants to do it rub all over me, and I'm not having any of it.

Richard is right, she's pretty bad in the morning, but evening cuddle session are temporarily halted, as she is QUITE persistent with her "needs" and "wants". :54:

LOL
I didn't know they can take breaks!

I always figured there were "mating seasons" with them. Jojo has been extra vocal the past two weeks and playing with her/his can. She LOVES boxes with a can inside of it. She will go in there for about 10-30 minutes doing the feather dance and noises. Then we'll hear the can tapping and and down and the regurgitating. Then she/he comes out of the box with that weird look in her/his eyes when finished.

I figure there must be two per year. And sometimes just out of the clear blue.

Jojo sure has a strong libido for 42 years old, 43 in one month.
