I’m so sorry. My bird had seizures before he passed and it’s a horrible thing to witness. I hope Ollie pulls through and makes a full recovery.

I’m very sorry to hear this. My Quaker parrot has seizures and has had them for the almost three years since he came to live with me. They are very distressing to watch. In my case, JJ seems to be epileptic. He has a seizure but recovers and goes back to normal for weeks before he’ll have another one. I don’t know if that’s the case for Ollie or if this could be caused by injury or illness.

The one thing I have found that has helped my bird is CBD ( hemp) oil. I know this is controversial as there is not a lot of research done on its safety in birds. But I wanted to mention it because it has helped JJ and I know that sick feeling of watching your bird have multiple seizures and not being able to do anything to help him. CBD does have legitimate research done in human studies showing that it can be effective in treating seizures.

I use oil from a company called Hemp Well that has a product, Bird Hemp, formulated specifically for birds. I did a lot of research and I felt this was a trustworthy company. While JJ still
has seizures, the CBD oil has helped reduce the frequency and severity of them and he recovers faster. I’m absolutely not pushing you to try this, just wanted to put it out there as an option as I know how hard it is to have a bird who has seizures. Continued prayers for little Ollie.
