A very strange thing happened in my house over the weekend. I have this gorgeous pendant/chandelier I bought in December for my kitchen.
It is galvinized metal with hanging wires covered in fabric (kind of looks like old knob and tube wiring which my house used to have before upgrading it) and mason jars hanging from the wire. With 16 jars and clear light bulbs, it makes a fabulous glow in the kitchen. i LOVE this fixture!
On the weekend i heard an explosive crash when one of the jars came flying down and hit the granite counter and EXPLODED glass all over my kitchen!!! Seriously, the jar that fell is where Gilbert eats his meals every day!!! I was just dumbfounded and grateful that no one was in the kitchen at the time and nothing was damaged (except the jar).
I called customer service about the ordeal yesterday and while i was on the phone, Gilbert was trying like mad to get my attention. He was chattering non-stop and AGAIN i heard him yell out: "you're a good boy!!"
I started laughing and had to apologize to customer service. Of course they could hear Gilbert chattering the whole time but that was just so funny. I will have to set up a camera when i leave the room and "ignore" him deliberately to get him on video saying this.
Sneaky.
And in the end, i'm getting a new light fixture sent to me because obviously i received a defective item! A little hassle, but in the end, we are all safe and it will be replaced for free.
