Opposites attract!

My oldest son is obsessed with penguins. I have to admit they've always been a favorite bird of mine, but of course they don't generally make good pets (though there are some kept as pets around the world). Earlier today we had the following conversation:

Kid: You got a bird, I should get one too. We should get a penguin.

Me: We can't get a penguin. We have tropical birds.

Kid: Opposites attract!

Me: No. Just no.

Gotta love teenager logic.

Too late. He's seen it already. He's convinced we should install a super-duper a/c system in the guest bedroom (we don't even have air conditioning in the house at all) and convert the pool to a salt water pool to make his future pet penguin comfortable. Maybe if we won the lottery. Probably not even then.
