I discovered aloe baths for my plucking quaker a couple of years ago, if the skin is dry or irritated at all, one bath in aloe juice will make a world of difference. Poppy, my Too, gets those pinfeathers that take forever to mature, I use aloe in a spray bottle on the really stubborn ones. It makes the feathers a little oily until the next plain water bath but I think it's worth it. You can buy a product called, 'Soother,' a topical spray, or you can make your own with one part 100% aloe juice to three parts water. I keep a spray bottle in the refrigerator.
