I would like to share with you our progress.
A week ago I posted video where my CAG took ball from my hand and put into the cup that was very close to her. The problem was when I moved the cup a bit then she would drop the ball on the floor. So I worked with her on that and look at the results. Now she actually picking the ball, walking across the table with it, and putting it into the cup.

Once I tried to train my mom's dogs, but didn't success at all, so I thought that I was a complete failure in training. Now I am so proud of my Tosia and her progress!:grey:

Aww the video is sooooo cute! She has done fantastic!

For birds fetch is just a trick and most birds can learn it, while for dogs fetch is something they either love or you they don't. I actually used fetch as a reward to teach my dog tricks because she enjoys it so much.

Thanks:-)
Actually it took Tosia quite a wile until she understood the principle of the "fetch". I almost gave up on this trick. Finally she got it and now making a good progress with fetching in several ways.

How smart! That's awesome.

I just bought our cag Dorothy a basket ball hoop. She is very quick at learning other things however I am not exactly sure how to teach this. How did you go about teaching "fetch"?

Hey, I also ordered mini basketball earlier today:-)
Now about fetching. First I gave her a little ball and put a cup just below her beak. She played with it eventually dropped it into the cup. I gave her treat and clicked with clicker. We did it 3 or 4 times in a row and then I moved the cup so she dropped the ball on the floor and didn't get a reward. And so on. Slowly she understood that she has to drop the ball into the cup and not just on the floor in order to get her treat.
Over all it took her about month to understand the principle, we even made a break and learned another trick, but after we got back to fetching she finally understood it. So if it takes you some time don't lose hope:p
