Parrots
Pineapple Green Cheek Conure, and now a Cockatiel?
So...I know I have a new baby, but if I have to go out of town for a weekend, will my little Peanut be ok, or should I get someone to watch him?

Get someone to watch him so he has interactions with people or better yet try and take him you could buy a travel cage if you go places a lot

Birds on trips can be great fun as long as they are handled responsibly. :)

Please DON'T leave your bird alone for the weekend. So many things can happen like water gets too dirty(I change my babies water like 3 times day and a water bottle is even worse and can get clogged and cause a death from thirst), they could poop in the food and refused to eat, could get cought on a toy and die and the list goes on. Please please please get someone to check in on Peanut if not take your bird or get someone to stay at the house with your bird. I'd never leave mine alone for that long because it's too dangerous in my opinion.

Do not leave your parrot for a weekend, with out someone at least checking in on him a few times a day, better is take him with your, or board at the vet. Parrots don't handle Solitary well.

100% agree!

Ok, ok, ok....I get the picture.
I've talked with a friend and they are going to watch him. I would take him, but the environment, in my opinion, wouldn't be the best for him (dogs, cats, and small children).

Well...my friend bailed on my, so I ended up taking Peanut with me. Things went surprisingly well! So well, that my parents gave me a cockatiel they apparently had been given that is not anywhere near tame. Going to start a different thread on this in the correct area though.

haha, yep. You get known for having one and suddenly you're the parrot keeper!

I've had so many people trying to offload birds onto me that I have no hope of caring for
