Parrots
1 BFA- Kiwi. Hatch circa 98', forever home with us Dec. 08'
Do you own a parrot or are you owned BY a parrot? It's easy to tell!

Own a parrot- Parrot shows interest in playing with your drink straw, you take drink away and that's the end of that.

Owned BY a parrot- Parrot shows interest in your drink straw, so you clean off the straw and put a bead on it so said parrot will have more fun:52:

Oh, snapppppppp!

Spouses owned by Patagonians have LESS fun.

Gus doesn't own me. Why, today I hardly noticed he was even here - I didn't do a thing except make him a toy, try out three different treats and two new fruits, rearrange his perches, scritch his head, carry him to the screen porch for more scritches, put him on the perch, move him to the other perch, read another book about parrots, carry him back to the porch, carry him all over the house to figure out what he's looking for, figure out its because any time I'm on the phone he wants to sit on the shoulder and mumble-squawk, put him back on his cage, fail to get the camera in time to catch the horizontal foot spaz-wave, try to tempt him with veggie bits while fixing dinner, eat some scraps myself while saying oh YUMM these are so GOOD, and then watch him cuddle up to Wonder Guy all evening. I swear, Gus owns him.

We ( Geri and I) are owned. Right now, she is running thru Saltys training routine because I am knocked out by a procedure I had done earlier. we fretted for 15 min on whether he would do it for her, cuz last time he grabbed the treaty and ran for the hills, laughing. Tonite , as I listen fromthe bedroom, he is doing fine. And tonite was the furst time he contact called for HER, and it almost brought tears to her eyes. And I am feeling guilty for not feeling up to being up to do it, and the nitely clean up routine. Yes, I think we are owned.

Parrots (Amazons) that Own Humans, Have More Fun!!!

No amazon "owner" actually "owns" the amazon, though I like to remind Kiwi sometimes that his dinosaur ancestors had no humans to cater to their every whim. I swear the spoilt and demanding little beastie is making up for 65 million years of lost human dooming time:rolleyes::D

Yaaaa, It's clear that Gus doesn't already own you!!! :D

Hahaha! Kiwi looks like he's thoroughly enjoying his new game! Is he actually trying to get the straw out of the jar? Or put it in? How big is the hole in the lid?

As for us, hard to say... though my wife has commented a time or two on how well the birds seem to have me trained. Lol!

Kiwi is OBSESSED with that particular cup/straw. He must play with it every time he sees it. The straw has a little thing on the bottom to keep it from pulling out of the cup, so he pulls it as far as it will go then lets it fall then starts trying again to get it out:p So cute to watch the gears turn! Adding the bead made him even more excited since he needed to take the bead off while trying to pull the straw out.

Well, considering that I just found a tomato in my jacket pocket I'd say I'm owned.

I dislike tomatoes but Stephen loves them. Yesterday I grabbed the cherry tomato out of my salad and saved it for him. Forgot it was in my pocket.

That bird firmly owns me.
