I have had my Senegal parrot for 14 years and now suffer from an allergic reaction to him.I can not take antihistamines because of high blood pressure. I have an air purifier, his cage is cleaned every day and always has been, I shower him twice a week. All help appreciated.

I’m sorry you’ve become allergic to your bird! But glad you are looking for ways to make it work rather than rehoming him. For bird allergies in our house ( compounded by asthma) we limit the birds to one room, clean that room daily ( vacuum, dust, wipe floors) run an air purifier in the bird room and a bigger one in the main area of the house. The non- allergic person ( me!) does all of the cleaning as cleaning can temporarily stir up dust. All of that may not be possible for you, but maybe wearing a mask when you clean, cleaning the main bird area/room daily, keeping the cage away from your bedroom, and running an air purifier in your bedroom at night ( maybe you already do) are some things that might help?
Consider bumping the showers up to three or four times per week as it will help in keeping the bird dust down.
If you use Forced Air Heating /Cooling change your filter(s)! First, choose a better quality filter than normal and second consider changing those fillers at a minimum of once each month that the unit is running!

To minimize bird dust from my seven budgies I position a Honeywell air purifier on the floor right next to each cage and run it continuously. I vacuum the pre-filter once a week and the amount of white feather dust it collects is amazing!
I also keep my budgies in 24x24x32 plexiglass "cages" made by Pennzoni Display Company, two budgies per " cage. These cages have 82 pre-drilled holes on the top and sides to hang decor and a three inch diameter hole on the back panel with a built in ventilation fan that draws fresh air in via the holes and vents it out the back. I put a 6" square of the air purifier pre-filter over the fan exit to catch any budgie dust, and it catches A LOT! The acrylic cage panels side together so they are not even close to air tight, allowing even more fresh air to be drawn in via the fan.
The cages are very well made, though expensive and worth it because I have severe asthma.
Between the air purifier running very close by and the cage set up itself very little bird dust escapes into the rest of the room.

He other HUGE plus with the acrylic cages I use is a 50%+ sound reduction. It seems like every day I read posts on PF (I read ALL new posts) from people worried about potential parrot noise or trying to quiet the parrot they already have for very serious reasons like pending eviction, birth of a baby, and neurosensory issues. Many end up rehoming their birds because they can't quiet them. So sad. Maybe a 50% reduction would solve the problem.
