Hi everyone!
I'm so curios to know from which parts of this world are this forums' members! I think It'll be so interesting!
So I thought about this: you can reply to this post with your country, native language & these two words [bird &parrot] in your native language.

I'll start: Im from Kuwait, my native language is Arabic
Bird =
- طائِر: tayir
- طَير: tayr
- عُصفور: eusfwr
Parrot =
- بَبَغاء: babagha

Oh my i must add a bit of other speacies ;)

For cockatiels كروان (quarrion) is most used here
For IRN (indian ring necks) its درة (durra)
That’s honestly all i can remember :D
 
maybe let's add species we have:
Polish:
green cheeked conure - rudosterka zielonolica
Budgie - papużka falista
Bourke's parrot - lilianka (mostly used) / łąkówka liliowa (official name in our Complete Bird List of the World)
 
I'm half Mexican. Along the border, we might say pajaro for bird, and then loro, papagallo, perico for parakeet, and sometimes cotorra... I'm really not sure what the nuances are, because I am a pocha (Latina whose Spanish is lousy). Then there are all the species names. Rickeybirds are called Burrowing Parrots in the Spanish world, or Loro Barranquero, because they nest in limestone cliff burrows.
