Galah and two amazons a du corps cockatoo
I paid for 3 eggs from James parrots which went smoothly regular contact in the cost was shipping. A company Ttl logistics contacted me to say I had to pay insurance which I would get back after delivery this started on the 22May they contacted to say one of the eggs had hatched they wanted a Ā£100 for the injection the vet had given the bird so delivery would not happen till I paid. Then they got stopped and got a fine as they had a live bird so over the next couple of days they sent me a picture of the baby so I paid then they sent other two hatched so delivery was put off again then two of the birds wasn’t well they said the had ABV so they needed treatment by the vet again yesterday they were being delivered but the van broke down and one of the babies didn’t look well. Today they have messaged me to say there is Ā£100 vet bill again no invoice or bill they say it’s a company vet. They say if I don’t pay the birds will be adopted. I’ve threatened with police trading standards. I have an address that they gave me but now they say the babies aren’t at that address. I realise I’ve been scammed I lost my husband 2 years ago and took early retirement and thought this would help me with my depression all they have done is made it worse any suggestions or advice please. Don’t have a go at me I feel bad enough as it is

Welcome to the forums, but I'm so sorry you were scammed out of your money @Jally. Nobody here will "have a go" at you, these fraudsters are very convincing and good at what they do, but unfortunately the sale of parrot eggs is always a scam, as you have now discovered. If you are able to get the police involved they may be able to help shut this scam down, and if you paid with a credit card you should contact your bank and/or card company to see if you can get your money back. I'm sorry this has happened to you and I hope you manage to get some justice!

Sadly this is a problem everywhere. I am sorry you're going through this. Report it everywhere you can with different enforcement agencies. Post address on other forums.

Wow! What horrible people to do this to you! And what an elaborate scam story they created.
Even if someone had fertile parrot eggs and wanted to sell them they wouldn't survive transportation. Viable eggs can't take any vibrations or shaking without fatally disrupting development.

I just looked it up out of curiosity. There are folks offering many types of eggs. Including some that are endangered. Where are they getting enough California Condor eggs to sell on internet? The sites I looked at are elaborate and legit looking.

Those dispicable people at James Parrots have an elaborate website that says they sell parrots and parrot eggs. I wish there was some way we could shut them down. LThey're UK based. The list a price of £1600 for "parrot eggs", same price for cockatiels, conures, Greys, amazons, and macaws. Thats over $2100 usd!

I'm curious. what kind of parrot did they say they were? How far along in development did they claim the eggs were? Howv were they goung to ship the eggs? What were you planning to do when you received your 3 parrot eggs? Have you ever incubated hatched and raised baby parrots before? Why not just buy a parrot?

If buying fertile parrot eggs was for real, I can understand why someone would want to buy some and raise their own parrots but it's a lot of work and so many things can go wrong raising baby parrots.

James Parrots (jamesparrotsforsale.co.uk) says they have retail shopes in the UK in Coalville, Leicestershire and Long Eaton. They claim to have ties to the East Midlands Parrot Club. I wonder of someone has registered a similar name and is impersonating the real James Parrots or if they have embellished their website with stuff that looks legit that isn't.
