What is cool about parrotlets is that they think they are the size of a macaw. At a outdoor display by a sanctuary one time, they had a number of 'too's, macaws, Amazons, and one blue parrotlet. I watched as this tiny little thing bossed a macaw right off his branch, nipping at his legs, and screaming in his little voice and all fluffed up to make himself bigger. The worker from the rescue was well aware of this little guys attitude and kept a close eye on him, lest one of the bigger birds chompt him. The tiny species often have that attitude, I know my Maxie did. He was a Yellow Wing Parrot ( aka Pocket Parrot) , smaller then a cockatiel but bigger then a budgie. When I took him to the pet shop for wing or claw trim, they would put him in a playpen with several other parrots, with all sorts in there waiting to be worked on. Max would try to push off Cockatoos and other much bigger birds.
Parrotlets are very cute and can even talk ( some of them), but that 'tude!
