Ok so I am going thru pellets and seed nut mix like crazy. its all over the bottom of the cage, outside the cage, venturing into other rooms from the cats playing with the almonds and larger chunks of stuff lol
the shop I buy our food from isnt around the block. i didnt think we would be going thru it this fast. Is there anything at petco that is good and worth it to buy for a 14 week old greenwing?:red1:

That have zupreem pellets there. I haven't shop there in awhile. Can't think of all the brands they carry....

Heres something I have to do with my macaw and cockatoo. They like to waste food! They also like to feed them to the dogs. I don't fill up their bowl, I give minimal food within the bowl and fill small bits when needed. If they waste the whole bowl on purpose they get nothing until the next morning. Mine no longer waste, once in awhile they will feed the dogs but not as bad. I barely have any waste on the bottom of the cage. Except the ekkies, messy messy!!!! I sweep around their cage 5+ times per day.

yep petco has zupreem, thats the only food i would use from there, its pretty pricey there though, you can get it cheaper online..i believe the last time i oriced it, it was $14 for a 3lb bag of natural large parrot pellets~ beware the website prices are less than the in store price
Bird Food from PETCO.com

Petsuper Market has much better prices than Petco. I buy Exact with omega3 oil pellets in the 20 lb. bag. That prices out to be only about $2.49 per pound. BTW, its the brand my vet recomended.

I'm surprised to hear your 14 week old Greenwing is not still on formula. My 15 week old Greenwing is being raised by a breeder. (S)he is still on formula and is only now starting to pick at the solid food they put out.

He is still on formula 2 feeding a day he decides what meal it is. He has been picking at pellets seeds and nuts for 2 weeks and gets his fruits and veggies and bean mix daily.

I shop at Pet Supermarket more often then any other pet shops. Their prices are reasonable plus you can print the $5 off $25 purchase coupon right online. But I buy my pellets through a distributor who is also a friend of mine. It's way less then store pricing.

With 3 parrots, we get the 12lb bag of Zupreem at PetsMart. It's about $43 and the opened bag gets stored in a sealed container in the freezer. We go through 12 lbs in about a month.

I use a combination of zupreen pellets from the feed store, fresh veggies and fruits, and I order in 40 lbs of Avian science Macaw super http://www.westcoastpetsupply.com/2/Avian-Science-Macaw-Super.html about every 4-6 months depending on how much bubba wastes. I only get feed from local pet shops if my order hasn't arrived in time.

17.5 lb bag at my distributor is only $32.00

Which Zupreem product are you referring to--specifically (Natural Diet, Avian Maintenance, Fruit Blend,...)?

Who is your distributor?

THat's about how much I pay at the feed store.
