Please please help me. My Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, female, 6 years old has started to full her new pin feathers out. She is stripping her body. She is definitely not bored as she has constant run of the house and garden, she is treated for mites and parasites, she has someone at home with her almost all of the time and she gets lots of affection. When she is not running around or destroying something she is on the arm of our chair. She is equally devoted to myself and my partner and even enjoys most strangers. She has 2 dogs, and most likely considers herself to be a dog, for company.
I am desperate and considering re homing her because I feel I have failed her.

please don't feel that way! but please take her to the vets for a good check up!

plucking is NOT always to do with bordom

i did see a post when some1 put a vest/ cut out sock onto there bird that plucked, out of habit, and it helped the bird, so you could try this if the vest does not bother her

and do you bath her regular??

Just like Suebee says, it doesn't always have to do with boredom. Regular bathing, food your feed, humidity of the house, etc etc. All matters!!! Vet check is needed!!!!
