I just looked a the baby price for my bird That I paid 50 bux for here in OZ.
I cant see how a medium sulpur crested (the closest breed to my Corrella) can cost more than an African grey, that rightly go for 3ooo bux here?
Every day as I drive to work I see 2 or 3 hundred Correllas and pinkNgrey Galahs feeding in the parklands in the city. Anyone want me to grab one on the way in tomorrow?
60 bux if you pick him up from my house,... deal?

Oh yeah, you can grab me two Galahs.

Here in the UK, I believe we are even more expensive than USA  on most things.

Well they're probably not expensive there because those birds are native to Australia. Just like with Eclectica...African Grey's are pretty cheap where she's from because that's where they're from. Noone's going to want to pay an astronomical amount for a bird if they can go in their backyard and catch it

Ya know, I was thinking about this lately, I have always wondered what it woudl be like to walk through a field and see a flock of Sun Conures as they flew away ... must be beautiful ...

As for pricing ... yeah, it depends on where you are to what you are going to pay ... I'm not going to pay money to own like a Blue Jay or a Cardnail or something like that ... and, you know what, you couldn't pay me $60 to own a 'too ...

I know someone from another forum from i beleive cranberra? aus. and she took pictures of galahs feeding on her feeders hanging outside. I fid it so interesting! *Another reason why i want to move to Aus* The USA is cheapest i beleive aside from Asia or Africa of course. A then i beleive it goes Canada, Australia and UK.

I looked up a Corella, it looks the same as a bare eyed too. is that just anotehr name for it?

I know theres only like 2 breeder in all of canada that breed Bare eyed so they'd be expensive. ok i just checked.. $1600 for bare eyed too.

hmm no idea how much sulfer crested toos are here, i know umbrellas are about $2000 here.

(im in canada by the way)

Yes, Skippah is bared eyed. I think he is also known as the 'lesser Corrella".
Slightly smaller than the Major Mitchel and a lot smaller than the Sulpher crested Too.
I know native birds are cheap in the country of origin, bur this is crazy. The Oz governmant has banned ALL eportation of wild birds, no exceptions. So farmers who could catch and sell them have to kill them instead. Its the law. by the way I still stop to watch flocks of Pink and greys and Correllas in the parks around the city. There is a small town called Tailem bend that has cliffs on the Murray river. There is a flock of several thousand Correwlla that hang around in one place. When they take off together the noise is deafening. 5000 birds all screaming and flying off at once.
Its something to see.

I would love to see all birds in their country of origin, flying free and totaly wild, its gotta be an amazing sight and sound. One day maybe.
