Prissy doen't want anything to do with me HELP!!

Yesterday I had Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Surgery. When I got home the first thing i did was go check on Prissy and all the other animals. My heart is broken!:smile016: PRISSY IS AFRAID OF ME!!! She doesn't want anything to do with me The good news is that she is now letting the other members of our household hold her without bitting them. but when I try to touch her she flinches and moves away! PLEASE I NEED ADVICE!!! She and i have always been bonded. she is my little buddy and always rides along hanging onto the front of my shirt. The other birds seem to be totally fine with me so why is it that the bird that is bonded to me is so afraid?????

Do you currently have anything on your hands/arms as a result of the surgery to help it heal? I don't think she's afraid of you per se. Try and take it slow again, and reward her for being close to you. Do some target training and work towards getting her to willingly touch your hands again. These things can and do happen, but don't worry! All it takes is some more one on one time and some nice bonding.

Exactly. What are those scary things on your arms? I don't know if they eat birds, but they seem to have latched onto mom pretty good and they're not letting go! I better not get anywhere near them... Mom's big, but I'm little. Those things are big enough to eat me!

It's just because of the brace lol, Kumar did the exact same thing when I came home after my carpal tunnel surgery. She'll get used to it. Bribe her with her fave treats.
