I haven't posted much about the conures lately so I figured id talk about them a little bit!
We've been working on station training so they'll stay on their play stand or cage rather than flying and landing on Pascal's cage, which is dangerous because he's territorial. So far so good! Only had one mishap where they both took off. I was in the bathroom, boyfriend was watching tv(the cages are on both sides of the TV) and something flew by the window and startled them. Kiwi took off, made a loop and went back to the cage, and Loki tried to clumsily follow her and wound up on the counter.. But it's getting better!!

Also.. Their flight feathers are coming back!!! :D Loki has been clipped since he came home over a year ago and FINALLY he's growing his flights! He has one primary on each side now! He still can't fly upwards really so I'll have to work with him to build those muscles! But being flighted will make it easier for them to maneuver back to the cage/stand rather than making an emergency landing on pascals cage. More progress!

Also, we 'introduced' the 3 of them yesterday in the shower. They kept to their own sides of the bath perch, and then afterwards we moved everyone to the bed. They all did great! Loki was indifferent as always, pit-patting back and forth trying to find a way to the cage. Kiwi and Pascal touched beaks(I'll admit, it felt like my heart stopped! She's fearless!) but pascal did great and sat still and let them scamper about.. No lunging or aggressive displays. Though that was under VERY close supervision of myself and Brad with a towel on standby in case somebody made a move. I wouldn't have them out on the same play stand but I'm hoping with enough time we can have a peaceful understanding of space between them all!

The conures(kiwi especially) are still beaky and hormonal, but with the season coming to an end we are working with them more and more with our hands again instead of the step-up stick. :) they're loud and crazy and sometimes annoying to no end, but I love them dearly and I couldn't imagine daily life without them. :D
