So I posted on here a couple days ago that I wasent sure how old my cag is and I was worried he wasent going to talk cuz we have had him about 3 months and only says hello well today I took a nap and he was on his perch well I woke up to him trying to talk nothing I could understand but I’m still so proud and excited I had to share !! The only thing is as soon as he realized I was awake he stopped he will only do it when no ones paying attention lol little bugger ... is there anyway to make him feel comfortable to try when we are paying attention I’ve herd of this happening to a lot of pple wit cag’s they only talk when there out of the room

Only when he feels comfy enough..thats when he'll start chatting up a storm when he knows people are around..so don't worry..it'll come soon enough!

That's exciting! My BHP practices and practices until he finally gets it.
My CAG only talked when I was out of the room, now we can't shut him up. I agree with Jim, when he feels more comfortable he will talk when you are watching:)

Agreed with all above, whens he's happy he has got it correct, he will share his new skills with you all.

If you do hear him talk, praise him, give him a treat, make it a big deal. It cant hurt and might help x

I don't have a talking bird, but I hear that is common. They practice when they are alone. Even Alex, the famous genius grey parrot, used to talk to himself. They only found out by putting a recorder on at night.

This is exactly what Levi did. He would be mumbling and trying to pronounce words and phrases, but only if no one was watching him ... LOL :) As soon as he heard me coming close he'd stop. haha

It'll come, very exciting!! YAY :D:
