I am looking to get a new larger cage for Abby. The one she is in is a loaner and is too small for her...

This the one that I am looking at, what do ya'll think about it? I am thinking of getting it in the Green color.

Victorian Retreat - Model GC6-3223 by A&E Cages Everything for Birds

Also.. who can post a smiley icon for a female Eclectus?

Looks like a NICE cage! I'm a little leery of those open playtops though...I've read that they can accidently collapse and harm the bird. Fred's cage has this type of top...his cage came with him. I've secured it shut.

I agree on the open top like that, it would worry me too much to use it. But otherwise I think it is a good size and all!

Mike, what part of Texas are you in?

I understand about the open top... the main thing I like about this cage is the on the front above the door there is a porch that folds down. I doubt it I will open the top and I will secure it with tie wraps..

Thanks for the input..

Mike

Sounds good!:) Fred's cage has the fold down perch as well...

Before buying that one look around. I've seen a handful with the front opening like that that doesn't have the open top.

Can you provide me with the brand names and or links?

Thanks Mike

Mike, I don't really know what brand it is....Fred came with his cage. I'd love to get him a bigger one soon, as I feel it should be bigger.

Thank you.... I know the one Abby is in is 24x20x36 with a play top.

Oy, sorry Mike. It was more in passing that I saw them while looking for new cages for my glock. I know on one the whole top front area flipped down. Can't remember the names :(

Abby wants to say Good morning/afternoon to all.
I hope everyone is having a great day.

I ordered Abby's new cage :D, will be here 5-7 working days...

I am so excited to get the new cage and making it Abby's new home.
This cage should last her for a long long time.

I have a question:
What do ya'll recommend to clean the cage with?
With the used one I took it to the car wash and used the high pressure to clean it. And then I wiped it down real good with paper towels.

Mike..

Hey glad you found a cage for Abby, yeah baby

I chose the one in the link... I am getting it from my breeder and she is throwing in $50 worth of home made toys :p.. she matched the price from the web site..

Hey good deal for you. I like the idea of the car wash. Is the cage green like you wanted? I was thinking that would be a difficult color to keep clean. Green on green so to speak. Abby is a luck bird to be with you.

Well done Mike, sure Abby is going to be like a "queen in her castle"
AND free toys what a lucky bird.
Be exciting to see how she reacts, remember to have the :pic: ready and rolling

What color do you recommend....

here is a pic of my living room... I have white walls, sand stone color concrete floor and tan and cream furniture.. Earth tone colors..

I think I'd go with the sand colour to match your earth tones....

Good deal Mike, of course you do know that means when Abby gets all settled in we'll need more pics of the princess in her new castle :)
