Raven's new word

Thought I'd share just for laughs...

He has now started saying "vegetable". One day I could have sworn it sounded like "want some vegetable" in his usually unclear Pionus voice. It's so funny when Raven talks. You know how some species just sound funnier/cuter than others when they talk? I just love the 'tone' and sound of his voice. That makes anything he says even more hilarious.

When I hear him say it, it makes me go get some right away... But, funny thing is, once he gets them he just looks at it and picks through it (he's very picky), and walks off to eat his Harrison's. He'll munch on some vegetables all during the day, but he's probably disappointed when it doesn't contain red bell pepper or the like. Just funny how he asks for it, then gets it and is no longer excited.

If I hadn't posted it before, he also nicknamed himself "Ray Ray" which is hilarious because the humans have never said it!

*Sigh of relief* I was expecting he accidentally picked up a dirty word lol. 'Vegetable' on the other hand is an adorable word for a parrot to say! And I think puberty must be coming if he's chosen to call himself "ray ray" from now on (and don't you call him Raven mom! He may not look as cool to the other birds)

You need to get a recording. I'm pretty sure Sydney now says, D a m n! I rolled my eyes when I heard that. On the plus side he also started saying, whatcha doin?

It's so hard to get a recording. When the phone comes out, even when I try to be subtle, they stop and freeze.

I will manage to get something eventually. Raven (Ray Ray) is always amusing when he talks. I have a feeling he'll have a pretty good repertoire by the time he's an 'older man'. Robin also talks, but it's nothing funny. Griffin only speaks bird.

I thought Raven already had the perfect name, but Ray-Ray is an excellent choice for such a cool guy. The fact he chose it himself makes it even better.

He also sometimes calls himself Ray . So cute when he says "good boy Ray". You know, short for Raven LOL! So I'm calling him Ray Ray or Ray too nowdays. He says it to get my attention, since he knows I like it and laugh.

Its funny when they rename themselves Harlow would call herself "Harla". My kids can easily pick up what my birds jibberish means. Im thinking its my old ears [not that it could be the screaming here at Too town LOL]

Def try and get a video or audio recording. I don't know why, but picturing a parrot saying vegetable in a funny voice is making me laugh LOL I'd get a kick out of that if I heard it! That's so cool
